SOSU ready for Southern Arkansas

12-20-07 - The Southeastern Oklahoma State men's basketball team (3-6) will look to end 2007 on a winning note when it hosts Southern Arkansas (6-3) at 7 p.m. on Friday at Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.

The Savage Storm are riding high after snapping a four-game losing skid with a 77-70 win over Missouri Western State at the River City Classic in San Antonio, Texas.

In that contest, Ken Reed put his game in high gear en route to a 28 point and 13 rebound performance to lead SOSU to a win that was more dominating than the seven-point final margin would initially show.

In the backcourt for the Storm, Kyric Rambo, coming off the bench for the first time this season, found his stroke again, chipping in 21 points in the winning effort.

Reed leads the team in scoring on the season with 12.3 per game, and on the boards with 6.9 rebounds per contest.

T he Muleriders enter the contest with a 6-3 record, including their most recent, a 73-68 win over Central Baptist.

SAU lost its lone contest with another Lone Star Conference school, 74-64 to Texas A&M-Commerce.

Mori Turpin leads the way for the Riders, scoring 10.6 per game, while Cameron Butler paces the squad on the glass with 5.3 rebounds per game.

SAU is getting outrebounded on the season by a 42.8-to-30.8 margin, but are outscoring their opponents by an average of 6.9 ppg.

The Muleriders shoot 43.4 percent on the year as a team, but will allow teams to hit shots against them as opponents are shooting 42.7 percent.
