Sherman's Hambrick, Denison's Taylor make all-state

Most basketball fans in North Texas realize that some of the best players in the state play here. The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches agree. Sherman's Brad Hambrick and Denison's T.J. Taylor were both named to the all-state team.

Hambrick became the first Sherman basketball player to make all-state since 1953. The senior guard led Sherman in scoring, while securing a basketball scholarship for himself at Texas A&M-Commerce. Hambrick led the Bearcats deep into the playoffs, before falling to state runner-up Fort Worth Southwest.

Not to be outdone, Denison has an all-state player of it's own. T.J. Taylor was one of only two sophomores to make the all-state team. Taylor is a highly recruited student-athlete that led the Jackets in scoring last season. He still has two years left at Denison, where the team figures to be in the playoff mix throughout his career as a Yellow Jacket. Taylor is already getting the attention of division one schools.
