A+ Athletes: Laci & Jaci Felderhoff

By  |

To honor this week's A+ Athletes, we head over to Gainesville High School for twins that are setting records both in the classroom and on the field.

This week’s A+ Athletes are Jaci and Laci Felderhoff from Gainesville High School. These two ladies have dominated everything at Gainesville High School. They have both competed for awards in four sports. They both earned countless all-district awards in volleyball and softball. They both started on the basketball team since their freshmen years, and this year they decided to throw shot put and discuss for the track team.

It's that competitive nature that makes these two so successful, not only in athletics but academics, too. Jaci is the valedictorian, and Laci is the salutatorian for the Leopards, but Laci says she will be number one by the end of the year.

This playful competition has helped them to earn community awards, public recognition, and even college scholarships.

They don't just make each other better; they make others better as well. They both tutor at St. Mary's Summer School,. They deliver food for the Meals-On-Wheels program, and they volunteer for the All Babies Born Alive organization and even umpire softball for the Girls & Boys Club. The twins both do so much for the community but still remain so humble about it.

These twins actually want to make helping others their profession. Laci wants to be a pediatrician, and Jaci is looking into physical therapy. Both of them will use their scholarships to study at the University of Texas at Austin.

Congratulations to Jaci and Laci on being named this week’s A+ Athletes.

We'll introduce you to another A+ Athlete every Friday here on First News AM. School officials, coaches, teachers, and counselors are encouraged to send in your nominees.
