Coalgate, OK -- The Coalgate Wildcats have hired Frank Howard to be their next head football coach.
Coalgate Athletic Director Jim Jenson confirmed to KXII Sports today that Howard has agreed to leave Seiling High School, which is dropping from Class A to 8-man next fall, to become the Wildcats new head coach.
Jenson said that among the 20 or so applicants, Howard stood out because he stressed his desire to remain in Coalgate for an extended period of time.
Howard becomes the 4th head football coach in 4 years at Coalgate. Just to put that into perspective, the seniors on next year's Wildcat football team will have had a different head coach in each of their 4 years with the program.
Howard will be on hand to conduct some of the upcoming Coalgate spring practices, and will fully take over before the start of next season.
