5-13-08 -- Spring football is underway in Oklahoma. The Ada Cougars took the field for the first time under the direction of their new head coach, Matt Weber.

Weber made the move from Marlow High School after Ada superintendent Pat Harrison dismissed Steve Dean in January after 4 seasons as the Cougars' head coach.

Weber is the son of the legendary Davis High School football coach Joe Weber, who he brought on board as an assistant coach.
Joe Weber helped run drills at practice.

Matt Weber had coached at Marlow since 2004. Where he led the football team to a 3A state runner up finish in his first year. He also helped lead Carl Albert High School to a state championship as an assistant coach.

The Cougar program is traditionally a winning one, but last year they went 5-5, missing the playoffs. Ada holds 19 Oklahoma State Football Championships.
