S&S Softball Going to State

5-24-08 -- Adversity is no big deal for the Lady Rams. After questionable calling in one game and player suspensions in another, the S&S softball team beats Aubrey to win the regional finals and a trip to the state tournament for the first time in school history.

Following a loss to the Lady Chaps on Thursday without the two suspended starters, the Rams got the runs going this afternoon. Both Kaci Bush and Haley Colwell powered it over the fence for home runs. S&S won game two 5-2 to force a tie breaker.

The Rams had all the momentum in the third game. In the second inning the Lady Rams put up 6 runs in a row. Angela White produced all the strikeouts as usual. S&S won Game 3 and the 2A Region 2 Championship 7-0.

They will now prepare for the state tournament in Austin. The other 3 contenders are Coahoma, Harmony and Poth. The UIL will set the matchups on Sunday. The first bat cracks Thursday afternoon at either 2:00 or 4:30 from McCombs Field.
