High school football practices kicked off in Texas on Monday. Several area teams began workouts to prepare for the upcoming football season.
Football teams in classes 4A through 1A were allowed to begin workouts. Class 5A and 6A teams that did not participate in Spring workouts, such as the Denison Yellow Jackets, were allowed to begin as well.
"It's something you've been looking forward to since the end of last year," Denison head coach Chad Rogers said. "You get out of here and use these nice facilities, working with these kids, it's just a great day, I couldn't sleep last night. I woke up at 4:30 ready to go."
The Sherman Bearcats practiced in the Spring and will begin football next week. Oklahoma high school football teams will begin workouts next week as well.
