Sooners Fall to Rice, 10-4

HOUSTON (AP) - Rice's Brian Friday and Josh Rodriguez hit
consecutive home runs in a four-run first inning to lead the Owls
to a 10-to-4 win over Oklahoma today in the opener of a
best-of-three N-C-A-A baseball super-regional series.
The Owls and Sooners meet tomorrow in the second game of the

Rice roughed up O-U starter Steven Guerra for six earned runs in
just 1-and-two-thirds innings. The Owls led 4-nothing after one
inning and 6-to-2 through the second and hit four home runs off O-U
pitching.
Rice finished with 14 hits, including seventh-inning home runs
from Aaron Luna and Danny Lehmann. Guerra fell to 11-and-4 after
taking the loss for the Sooners.cessary it would be played Monday.
