A+ Athlete: Kelsey Jenkins

By  |

HEALDTON, Okla. ― To honor this week's A+ Athlete, Daniel Gotera headed up to Healdton to meet Kelsey Jenkins.

This week's A+ Athlete is Kelsey Jenkins from Healdton High School. Kelsey is #1 in her senior class, and those high marks have earned her a spot in the National Honor Society.

She says her drive to succeed comes from sports.

Kelsey is a standout on the softball diamond, where she has started since freshman year. She is also an all-district honorable mention on the Bulldog basketball team, a sport she gets a lot of motivation from.

Her coach, Jeff Brown, is appreciative of all the hard work she puts in week in and week out.

Kelsey is also the editor of the school yearbook, has volunteered at the Ardmore Soup Kitchen, and been raised in a house with four other siblings.

While she doesn't know where she wants to go next, she is grateful for growing up Healdton.

Congratulations to Kelsey Jenkins on being named this week’s A+ Athlete.

We'll introduce you to another A+ Athlete every Friday here on First News AM. School officials, coaches, teachers, and counselors are encouraged to send in your nominees.
