SAN DIEGO (AP) - Utah has become the only unbeaten team in major college football after Boise State lost a bowl game in San Diego Tuesday.
Joseph Turner ran for a 17-yard touchdown midway through the fourth quarter to lead 11th-ranked TCU to a 17-16 win over the No. 9 Broncos in the Poinsettia Bowl. The Horned Frogs rolled up 472 yards, converted nine of their 18 third downs and held the ball for more than 36 minutes.
Boise State led 10-0 following Ian Johnson's 20-yard scoring burst midway through the first quarter. It was Johnson's 58th career rushing touchdown, breaking Marshall Faulk's Western Athletic Conference record.
TCU finishes the year 11-and-2. Boise State settles for a 12-and-1 mark.
