A+ Athlete: Dianne York

By  |

COLBERT, OK - It’s time to meet this week's A+ Athlete and for that, we go up to Colbert, Oklahoma. That’s where we're introduced to a student athlete who is studying and working hard to possibly one day, give back to the game she loves so much.

To be a point guard, you have to be a leader and that’s exactly what Colbert's Dianne York has become. This week's A+ Athlete has been playing basketball for as long as she can remember. Dianne has been named to the Bryan County All-Star team, but her success is overshadowed by the relationships she has made throughout her playing career with her teammates.

Off the court, Dianne is ranked in the top ten of her class and is the president of the National Honor Society. Balancing both sports and academics has been challenging and that attitude has left a lasting impression on her coach.

Dianne says she wants to go Southeastern when she graduates and she wants to stay connected to sports, but on the medical side of things by becoming a physical therapist.

Congratulations to Dianna York on being named this week’s A+ Athlete.

We'll introduce you to another A+ Athlete every Friday here on First News AM. School officials, coaches, teachers, and counselors are encouraged to send in your nominees.
