Kingston hires new head coach

KINGSTON, OK - The Kingston Redskins have hired current Ada assistant head coach Greg Mitchell to be the school's new head coach in 2009.

Mitchell graduated from Velma-Alma back in 1994 and coached at his alma mater from 2001-2007. Last year, he joined Matt Weber and his staff with the Cougars in Ada.

The Redskins finished the 2008 season with a record of 0-10, last in District 2A-4. After the season, the school parted ways with former head coach Jeremy Atwood.

The school board approved the hire at their weekly meeting on Monday, February 9. Mitchell is expected to be at the school in time for spring workouts.
