ECU women's tennis team upends SOSU, 6-3

The East Central University women’s tennis team swept all three doubles matches and cruised to a 6-3 Lone Star Conference dual victory over Southeastern Oklahoma State on Tuesday.

Julia Arguello (No. 1 singles) and Claudia Gamarra (No. 2) won in straight sets while Angelita Detudamo (No. 3) went three sets to earn her win.

In doubles play, Gamarra and Detudamo combined for an 8-3 triumph at No. 1 doubles. Arguello and Noelia Caballero teamed up for a close 9-7 decision at No. 2, while Kristen Clubb and Erin Miller were victorious at No. 3 doubles, 8-4.

ECU improved to 5-6 overall this spring and 2-4 in LSC competition.

DOUBLES: No. 1 Gamarra/Detudamo (ECU) def. Brooks/Grayson, 8-3; No. 2 Arguello/Caballero (ECU) def. Paine/Leal, 9-7; No. 3 Clubb/Erin Miller (ECU) def. Sara Schmidt/Molina, 8-4.
