TISHOMINGO, OK - This week's A+ Athlete is Leslie Wesberry from Tishomingo High School. Leslie will be the first to say that his true passion in life is baseball and he plays his favorite sport very well. Leslie was named the 2007 team Offensive Player of the Year and has made the first team in both the lake country conference and area.
In addition to baseball, the senior is also a linebacker on the Indian football team ranking in the top twenty in tackles at the 2A level across the state and it’s the physicality of the game which led him to play in the fall.
But while his talents shine in the athletic arena, he is also a star in his studies. Leslie ranks fifth in his class with a 3.6 GPA has been named a male scholar athlete the past three years and is a member of the Oklahoma Honor Society. Leslie says his academic drive comes from his favorite pastime of baseball.
When he graduates, Leslie will be attending Lon Morris Junior College in East Texas and he thanks his parents for helping him every step of the way.
