The Sherman Bearcats will have a new head football coach soon. But it would not happen at their regularly scheduled school board meeting on Monday.
The Bearcats are looking to replace Drew Young, who left for Durant a few weeks ago to take over as the school's athletic director.
KXII's David Reed spoke with Sherman superintendent, Dr. Al Hambrick, and was told that the school continues to receive applications and a hire would not be made tonight. Applications are up to about 30, and the school plans to call a special board meeting sometime in July to vote on a new coach.
