Cuban, Mavs in hot pursuit of keeping Kidd
DALLAS (AP)—Mark Cuban wants to be first in line to talk to Jason Kidd. Cuban posted Tuesday on Twitter, “Getting ready to fly up to NYC for Free Agent meeting at 12:01,” and that free agent is Kidd, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

The Mavs are not poised to win a championship in the near future with or without Kidd. There is no need to get into a bidding war over a 36 year old point guard. His stats have become unremarkable, and won't improve over the next few years...certainly not enough to make a difference for THIS team.
