SOSU Football Schedule Released

DURANT - The three-time defending Lone Star Conference North Division champion Southeastern Oklahoma State Savage Storm released their 2007 schedule.

Southeastern will open the season with two games at Paul Laird Field, including the opener against NAIA powerhouse Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday, Aug. 31 before facing Tarleton State on Sep. 8.

The Savage Storm will hit the road for a pair of crossover matchups beginning with 2006 NCAA Division II postseason qualifier Abilene Christian on Sep. 15 before facing former SOSU boss Keith Baxter and the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas on Sep. 22.

After an open week, Southeastern opens LSC North Division play at home against Texas A&M-Commerce. The Lions handed the Savage Storm their only North Division loss in two seasons in 2006.

SOSU will then travel to Weatherford, Okla. to face Southwestern Oklahoma State before returning to Paul Laird Field for the final two times in the 2007 season.

The Savage Storm will face rival Central Oklahoma on Oct. 20 before playing host to another 2006 NCAA Division postseason qualifer in Midwestern State for Homecoming on Oct. 27.

Southeastern closes the season on the road against Northeastern State and East Central.
