5-1-07 - Southeastern Oklahoma State placed three players on the Lone Star Conference North Division's first team and another on the second Tuesday when postseason awards were announced by league officials.
Rachel Sill, Ashley Graham and Bailey Mathes earned top mention, while Rachel Lynn was named to the second team.
Sill, a junior first baseman from Tuttle, Okla., used a late season surge to finish with a .325 batting average while leading the team with 11 home runs and 46 RBIs. She added eight doubles while slugging .586.
Graham, a junior right fielder from Arlington, Texas, hit .380 with a 11 doubles, 10 homers and 43 RBIs after transferring from Eastern Oklahoma College for the 2007 season.
Mathes, a sophomore shortstop from Ardmore, Okla., clubbed a team-record 18 doubles while carrying a .342 average and driving in 28 r uns as a transfer from Oklahoma City University.
Lynn, a junior left fielder from Skiatook, Okla., led the conference with 78 hits and was third with a .438 batting average.
Cameron's Stephanie Bour was named the North Division Player of the Year, while Central Oklahoma's Alli Blake was named the leagueh's top pitcher.
Katie Peterson of Midwestern State earned Freshman of the Year honors, and Central Oklahoma's Hillary Brandt was the division's best newcomer.
The Savage Storm closed out the 2007 season with five wins to finish at 30-25, but failed to qualify for the LSC Postseason Tournament for the first time since the school became a member of the conference in 1998.
