Jones withdraws from NBA draft to stay with Aggies

HOUSTON (AP) - Texas A&M forward Joseph Jones says he's withdrawing his name from the NBA draft and will return to the Aggies for his senior season.

Jones said last month that he would participate in the draft if he thought he would be one of the top 15 picks. He didn't hire an agent, thus protecting his college eligibility.

Jones tells Houston station KRIV that he hasn't gotten the response from NBA teams that he wanted.

Jones has started 94 games, and he averaged 13 points and 7 rebounds last season as the Aggies finished second in the Big 12 and advanced to the round of 16 in the NCAA tournament.
