8-6-07 - The high school football season kicked off on Monday with the start of pre-season workouts in Texas.
The small schools lead the way in North Texas with classes 3A, 2A, and 1A taking the field for the first time. Most of the larger schools will take the field next week, since most participated in spring football. That is the case for Sherman and Denison, who will each begin practice on August 13th.
Oklahoma football teams will begin practice on Tuesday. All classifications will be allowed to participate north of the Red River, including Ardmore and Durant.
