8-14-07 - Thursday, Aug. 30, will be a day of fun and football at Southeastern Oklahoma State University as the Fourth Annual Big Blue Bash is set for 4 p.m. at Paul Laird Field and the football opener against Northwestern Oklahoma State will be at 6 p.m.
The Big Blue Bash is a family-friendly event, where there will be fun and games for all ages, including free hot dogs, bouncing on the inflated Palace, climbing the U.S. Army's rock wall, and getting athlete's autographs.
Fans are encouraged to bring their cameras and participate in "Be The Athlete," where fans can pose as an SOSU athlete for multiple sports.
There will also be clowns that will make your favorite balloon animals or you can get a temporary tattoo and collect spirit items.
This year's Bash is being held just prior to the kick-off of the Savage Storm football season. Kids aged 12 and under w ill be admitted free, while the cost for adults is $8 for the full evening, from the Bash through the game.
The Big Blue Bash is sponsored by the United States Army, Medical Center of Southeast Oklahoma and Shamrock Bank.
Following the Bash the three-time Lone Star Confernce North champions kicks off their 2007 campaign at home by hosting the Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma University. Gates to Paul Laird Field open at 4:00 p.m. for the Bash, so everyone is invited to come out as early as you wish.
Athletes from across Southeastern's athletic department will be recognized. The Pride of Southeastern marching band will play, and we are honored to have an official color guard again this year.
