AC Volleyball rises in polls

9-11-07 - After opening the season with the highest ranking in school history at No. 14, the Austin College volleyball team swept through each of its first two early season invitational tournaments to open the 2007 season with a perfect 9-0 record, and the ’Roos have been rewarded in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association poll with a No. 12-ranking.

The ’Roos are now the second highest rated team in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, with Trinity staying put at No. 7 after starting the season at 8-1, and Southwestern moving up to No. 15 with an unblemished 8-0 record.

Austin College will face its stiffest challenge of the season to date this weekend when they take part in the SCAC West/Central crossover tournament in Colorado Springs, where they will take on Rhodes, Birmingham-Southern and Millsaps before closing the weekend with a showdown against Trinity at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
