This week's A+ Athlete is Jordan Haddox from Rattan High School.
Jordan's academic resume is quite extensive. He is valedictorian of his class with a 4.27 GPA, the president of Rattan's National Honor Society, he's been twice a member of an All Academic team and was voted "Most Likely to Succeed" and "Most Talented" by his senior class.
"From a young age my parents have instilled into me that academics is always the key to success," Haddox said. "So I've always strived in that as much as I have athletically."
"Jordan is an outstanding student," English teacher Brenda Wood said. "He is every teacher's dream and works hard in whatever he does."
When Jordan's not hitting the books, he's on the court. He's a four-year letter man for Rattan helping the Rams to the area tournament 3 times, including a trip to state his senior season. He also played on Rattan's Class A State Champion baseball team in 2013.
"You have to work as a team in order to win," Haddox said. "I also enjoy the thrill and the adrenalin rush you get."
"In today's society there's a lot of 'me' and Jordan is selfless," Basketball coach Chris Brown said. "He works really hard. I would like the kids to see that you can work hard and achieve and if it's not given to you, you don't just have to quit."
After graduation Jordan plans on attending Southeastern Oklahoma State University to major in Wildlife and Fisheries management.
And that's why Jordan Haddox is this week's A+ Athlete.
