Aggies are Region Champs, Will host District tournament

The Murray State College Aggies are the NJCAA Division II Region 2 baseball champions. The team won the NJCAA Division II Region 2 Championship over the weekend in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
To get to the finals on Sunday, the Aggies defeated Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa 10-0 in round one, NOC-Enid 10-0 in round two, and Western Oklahoma State College 5-1 in round 3. MSC took care of Redlands Community College in the championship game 12-10 in ten innings.
After the game, region honors were handed out. Eight Aggies were named to the Region 2 All Tournament Team. Short stop Keach Ballard, right-handed pitcher Eddie Broll, right-handed pitcher Bradley Horn, first baseman Josh Ingram, catcher Eddie Kieffer, catcher Jacob Martinez, outfielder Noel Nevarez and outfielder/right-handed pitcher Jared Sterling were all named to the team. Ingram was also chosen as the tournament MVP. Murray State College Head Baseball Coach Zach Crabtree was named the NJCAA Division II Region 2 Coach of the Year.
Murray State College will host the Plains District Championship series Friday and Saturday, May 17th & 18th. The Aggies (40-19) will face off against Hesston College (25-16) from Kansas and MCC-Longview (31-8) from Missouri. The winner of the Plains District will advance to the National Tournament in Enid, Oklahoma.
