Baseball Falls to Southwestern

The East Central University baseball team dropped a 0-6 Great American Conference decision to Southwestern Oklahoma State in the first of three games.

The Tigers (8-28, 2-20 GAC) saw just two hits during the game, with one each from senior Andrew Olson and junior Kyle Watase. Senior Robert Buitrago pitched a complete game, recordings one strikeout and allowing 10 hits.

The Bulldogs (23-12, 15-7 GAC) came out ready to play in the first inning, scoring two runs for a 0-2 lead. Southwestern added two more runs in the second and single runs in both the fifth and seventh innings for the 0-6 win.

The teams will resume the series, Saturday, April 13 with a double-header scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at SWOSU Baseball Field.
