For the fourth time this season Jacee Bennett has been named the Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week, this time after leading No. 5 Southeastern to a four-game sweep of Southwestern Oklahoma State over the weekend.
Bennett and Southeastern improved to 32-7 overall on the season and 15-3 in GAC play, maintaining its position atop the conference standings.
She has pushed her own record in the circle to 18-4 in 17 starts and 33 appearances with six saves.
Bennett posted a 2-0 record against SWOSU in three appearances with two starts and a complete game, pitching 16.0 innings over that span.
Despite scattering 13 hits over those 16 innings, she posted a 1.31 ERA by allowing three earned runs while holding the Bulldogs to a .213 batting average.
She also posted an impressive 25 strikeouts across from just four walks, including a 12 K performance during her six innings of relief in game two of the series.
Bennett also added a 3-for-6 effort from the plate with an RBI.
She also helped propel the Storm back to the top of the GAC team pitching charts with a staff ERA of 2.47, while moving herself into fourth in the category with a 2.34 ERA on the season.
She currently leads the conference in wins with 18, strikeouts with 143, appearances with 33 and saves with six.
Southeastern will be back on the field April 12-13 when it hosts Ouachita Baptist in a four-game series that will also be the final home league series for the team this season.
