SOSU Bennett Recognized as NCAA Saves Leader

Southeastern softball's Jacee Bennett has been recognized by the NCAA as the national saves leader for the 2013 softball season, receiving a plaque in honor of her accomplishment.

Bennett, a native of Colbert, Okla., who is entering her junior season turned in nine saves to lead the nation in the category for the season.

She posted a 21-5 record last season in the circle with a 2.71 ERA while helping guide the Savage Storm to a trip to the NCAA Division II Central Region tournament and a No. 2 national ranking.

In 44 appearances with 22 starts she logged 178.1 innings pitched while striking out 188 opposing hitters.

Southeastern will open the 2014 season on Feb. 1 when it travels to San Antonio, Texas for the St. Mary's Tournament.
