Big second half from Roach leads Texas past Oklahoma State

Kerwin Roach Jr. scored 15 points, all in the second half, and added six rebounds, as Texas closed the game on a 16-2 run to defeat Oklahoma State 62-50 Friday night in the regular season finale for both.

Isaiah Taylor added 12 points for No. 23 Texas (20-11, 11-7 Big 12), which reached the 20-win plateau for the 16th time in the last 17 seasons.

Leyton Hammonds scored 20 points and added six rebounds to lead Oklahoma State (12-19, 3-15), which lost its sixth straight and ninth in its last 10.

After the teams entered the second half tied at 29, neither squad was able to build more than a three-point lead through the first 15 minutes.

Hammonds' long jump shot put the Cowboys ahead 48-46 with 7:44 remaining, but Roach capped off a 6-0 Texas run with a layup to put the Longhorns on top, 52-48, with 4:32 remaining.
