IRVING, Texas (AP) - The Dallas Cowboys are bringing back middle linebacker Rolando McClain for a third season.
The agency that represents McClain, Sports Trust Advisors, said in a tweet that the 26-year-old had agreed to a contract Wednesday, the first day of free agency. The deal is for one year at $5 million, according to a person with knowledge of the contract who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because terms weren't released.
The 2010 top 10 pick by Oakland resurrected his career in Dallas after three disappointing seasons with the Raiders and a year away from football.
McClain has been among the leading tacklers in both seasons with the Cowboys, although he missed eight games because of injuries and a four-game drug suspension.
