BONHAM, TX - There have been a lot of great baseball players come thru the area and many have even gone on to big league careers. But it's hard to find a more accomplished player than the Bonham Bullet.
Danny Darwin was honored in Bonham Friday night, where he saw his jersey retired. After playing for the Purple Warriors, Darwin had a great career at Grayson College, where his jersey is also retired.
He played for the Texas Rangers, Houston Astros, Boston Red Sox, and several others.
"I'd just like to thank everybody that's been a part of this," said Danny Darwin. "Anytime you can come back to your town and you do have a number retired and that number is never going to be worn again, it's a special feeling."
