There are plenty of great athletes in Texoma, but Jaydan Hunt has accomplished something few others have.
Hunt was named as the TAAF Female Athlete of the year in a ceremony on Thursday at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in Waco.
"I'm still overwhelmed that I received this, I'm beyond grateful and beyond happy that all my hard work paid off in the long run," said Hunt.
Hunt is a four sport athlete at Denison High School, and specializes in throwing the shot put and discus
She was surrounded at the ceremony by her family members, including her brother Christian, from whom she picked up here love of throwing, and her father Eric, who also doubles as her summer track coach.
"I'm extremely proud; Jaydan works extremely hard. She's blessed, but she puts a lot of effort work and commitment into those blessings," said the elder Hunt.
And at 15 years old, odds are the best is still to come for Jaydan.
