Derek Fisher shed a little blood in his first practice as a Dallas Maverick.
Maybe it's a sign of commitment.
The veteran point guard who signed with Dallas as a free agent this week took an elbow to the nose Friday. He says with a laugh that it will help him get back in the mix.
The 38-year-old Fisher has not played since he helped Oklahoma City sweep the Mavericks in the first round of last spring's playoffs before falling in the NBA Finals to Miami.
Dallas has lost eight of its last 11 games and the Mavs are counting on Fisher for leadership as Dirk Nowitski recovers from an injury.
