The East Central University men's and women's tennis teams will play their first matches of the 2014-15 season Sept. 5-6 at the Emporia State Chicken Dinner Fall Tournament in Emporia, Kan.
The Tigers will have six individuals and three sets of doubles pairs at the individual tournament. The format for the tournament is set up at as three 16-player knock out draws with a consolation round, so every individual player is guaranteed at least two matches. The draw remains the same for each doubles pair, with three eight-player knock out draws and a consolation round.
ECU will be competing with Emporia State, Kansas Newman, Nebraska-Kearney, Northwest Missouri State, Rockhurst, Missouri-Kansas City (NCAA DI) and Washburn. The matches start at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5 and will continue throughout the day Friday and Saturday.
On the men's side, the Tigers will be represented by Marc Fillat, Max DeJuan, Alex Fillat, Adria Abella, Stefan Schodlbauer, Nate Kipping and Trevor Kipping.
The Lady Tigers that will represent ECU are Julia Municoy, Bernardita Muscillo, Elisabeth Dignard, Aurelie Rodriguez, Gloria Mayorga and Veronica Mijares.
