The opening set was a close battle at the start. After a five-all tie ECU used a 6-1 run to take an 11-8 advantage on the scoreboard. However, the Bulldogs (11-81, 7-5 GAC) fought back and used several small runs to get within two (16-14). That is when SWOSU really took control, using an 11-0 run for the 16-25 win.
The Bulldogs pulled out to an early 1-3 advantage in the second set and kept pushing the momentum in their favor with small runs throughout the set. SWOSU pushed through for a 17-25 win.
The final set started with SWOSU again opening with an early lead, this time 0-3. The Bulldogs pushed the lead out to 1-9 and never let the Lady Tigers get closer than five points the rest of the set and earned an 18-25 win.
The teams were close in many categories on the box score, including a .202 (35k-16e-94ta) to .267 (39k-12e-101ta) hitting percentages mark. The key difference came at the service line where the Bulldogs tallied 13 service aces to zero by the Lady Tigers.
