ECU cross country teams to host Tiger Chase on Saturday

The East Central University men’s cross country team, which was recently ranked 16th in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Top 35 poll, and the ECU women’s squad will host the Tiger Chase on Saturday at the Pontotoc Technology Center in Ada.
The 5k women’s race is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. with the 8k men’s event to follow.
ECU will be joined by Northwestern Oklahoma State, Southern Arkansas, Arkansas-Fort Smith and Midwestern State.
The ECU men’s squad is coming off a first-place finish at the 5,600-meter Midwestern State Stampede last Thursday while the Lady Tigers were second at that same event, a 4-kilometer women’s race. Midwestern State won the women’s team title.
This Saturday’s meet is the first of two home events for the Lady Tigers and Tigers this season. ECU will host the Great American Conference Championships on Oct. 20 at the Pontotoc Technology Center.
