East Central parts ways with head basketball coach
Joe Redmond is no longer the head basketball coach at East Central University. After just two games, Redmond was dismissed as the school looks into possible recruiting violations.
“East Central University is looking into possible NCAA violations in its athletic program tied to basketball recruiting," the school said in a press release.
Redmond was hired just 19 months ago. He led the tigers to a 10-17 record last year. ECU was 1-1 so far this season.
Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach Rodney McConnell has been named interim head coach.
