SHERMAN, TX - Sherman High School named Denison graduate Greg Nix to be their next basketball coach after the Board of Trustees approved his hiring at Monday's Board meeting.

"We are really excited to welcome coach Nix to the Sherman High School family," Kinne said, "He has local ties to the area, so he has a great understanding of the athletic history in Sherman."

The 2-time district coach of the year joins the Sherman staff after serving as boys basketball coach for eight seasons at Prosper high School. He finishes with a 230-110 record with appearances in bi-district, area, and regional quarterfinals.

Before serving at Prosper, Nix spent 4 years at Troup, receiving district coach of the year honors each season and coaching the boys basketball team to district championships in 2002-2003 and 2003-2004.
