Gundy: 84-0 blowout may have hurt Oklahoma State

When can an 84-point blowout be bad for the winning team? Just ask Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy.

The Cowboys (1-1) stumbled in Week 2 after rolling to an 84-0 shutout in their opener against Savannah State. Many of Oklahoma State's starters were on the field for only about a dozen plays in the opener, and Gundy believes there was a carry-over effect leading into the 59-38 loss at Arizona last week.

Gundy says his players hadn't been challenged and then encountered a week of practice with temperatures over 100 degrees, and "they just went through the motions."

Gundy now is trying to get them re-focused to face Louisiana-Lafayette (2-0) this Saturday.
