Hugo football coach turns in resignation

Terry Shamley has resigned as the head football coach at Hugo High School just one week before the start of football practices.

According to the school, Shamley did not offer a reason for his resignation. The Buffaloes must quickly launch their search to find a replacement.

"He resigned yesterday." Hugo Principal Todd Harrison said. "He brought that to me on his own free will. His son had left to coach elsewhere. I'm not sure if that played a factor or not."

High school football practices can begin in Oklahoma on Monday, August 12th.
