Trent Storts scored 18 points, Kade Hayes chipped in 15 points and Latta never trailed on its way to a 58-41 victory Saturday against Haworth in the Class 2A boys state championship game.
It was the first state title for Latta (29-3).
Storts hit a 3-pointer and then Hayes followed with three more 3s during a 12-0 first half run, putting Panthers in control to stay. Hayes' third 3-pointer made it 16-4 early in the second quarter.
Haworth (28-7) could never again get within single digits. Oscar Rivera had 11 points to lead the Lions.
Jake Collins hit all eight of his foul shots and finished with 10 points for Latta.
