The Murray State College alum, and current assistant baseball coach, Brandon Marris was crowned a champion in his first season of professional baseball. Marris plays for the Sante Fe Fuego in the Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs.
The Fuego clinched the title last week with a 7-3 victory over the Alpine Cowboys at Kokernot Field in Alpine, Texas. Marris led the Fuego in innings pitched this year with 68.2. He had a 5-3 record, with 62 strikeouts, 32 walks and 5.11 ERA. Marris played for MSC in 2011 before transferring to Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he played for two seasons.
