The East Central University men’s basketball team dropped a 52-65 decision to Arkansas-Monticello at Steelman Fieldhouse in Great American Conference action.
The Tigers (7-14, 4-11 GAC) were led by junior Colby Carr, who tallied his eighth double-double of the season with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Junior Jason Williams added 10 points and three boards.
“You can’t win on the road if you get outhustled and outplayed,” said head coach Mac McConnell. “We have to find a solution to our lack of energy if we want to win.”

The second half started out close, with The Tigers holding a three-to-seven point advantage until just less than 11 minutes remained in the game. ECU was up 47-41, but the Boll Weevils held the Tigers without a field goal for the rest of the game and used a 15-5 run to earn the 52-65 win.
The Tigers were out-shot 34.5% (19-of-55) to 52.1% (25-of-48) from the field, but did earn a slight 36-32 rebounding advantage.
