The East Central University men’s cross country team will be bolstered by the addition of nine student-athletes to the 2013 roster.

“With losing only a few seniors last year our men's team is looking to be real tough,” said head coach Steve Sawyer. “This is the biggest class we have ever signed. If we can stay healthy and work together as a team we have a real shot at earning a third straight conference title along with a possible national qualification.”
Baxter was a four year member of the Yukon High School cross country team, where he earned academic honors all four seasons.
Biles joined the Latta High School cross country team in 2011. As a junior he placed first at the regional and was sixth at the state meet.
Bragg Jr. comes to the Tigers after spending the past four seasons with the Riley High School cross country team. As a senior he helped the team to the South Bend City Championship and was named to the All-Northern Indiana Conference second team.
Figueroa helped the cross country team to the DeAnza League Championship in 2012 and a seventh-place finish at the state meet. Individually he finished third in the league championship and 41st at the state meet.
Jimenez Jr. transfers to ECU from El Paso Community College where he spent the last two seasons. He earned two-straight conference titles and helped the team finish sixth at nationals. As a sophomore he earned Division 5 All-Conference honors.
Mora has been part of the Eastwood High School cross country team since his freshman season. As a junior he helped the team to a district championship, second-place finish at regionals and sixth at the state meet. In his senior season he finished fourth overall at the district championship and helped the team to the district title, third at regionals and fourth in the state meet.
Mugisha transfers to the Tigers from Paradise Valley Community College. As a sophomore he helped Paradise Valley to the NJCAA Men’s National Championship title and earned All-America honors.
Pacheco Oozco was the 2013 NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field 10k National Champion at Colby Community College. He earned a fifth-place at that same meet in the 5000 meters.
Piccolo has spent the past four years at Boswell High School where he helped the Pioneers to district titles in 2010 and 2012. The team also finished sixth at the regional meet in 2012 and fourth in 2010.
