Men’s Cross Country Set to Open Season at Midwestern State

For at least the fifth-straight season the East Central University men’s cross country team will open its season in Wichita Falls, Texas. This year the season opens with the Strohman Dental Stampede hosted by Midwestern State at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 5.

A year ago the Tigers claimed first out of seven teams in the 7K race at Midwestern State. Senior Cale Eidson finished third out of 66 runners in a time of 17:23.73.

Fellow returners junior Taylor Nasu, sophomore Arturo Nava and sophomore Zacharie Jeandemange also participated for ECU in the race. Nasu finished eighth (17:55.64), Nava 11th (18:07.57) and Jeandemange 30th (19:25.71).

The Tigers will be one of five teams participating in the event in 2013. Joining ECU are Angelo State, Clarendon College, Dallas Baptist and Oklahoma Christian.

Women’s Cross Country Opening Season at Strohman Dental Stampede

ADA – The East Central University women’s cross country team will open up its season in Wichita Falls, Texas for at least the fifth-straight season. The Lady Tigers will attend the Strohman Dental Stampede hosted by Midwestern State starting at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 5.

Last season ECU opened the year at the Midwestern State Stampede with a second-out-of-six team finish. Junior ReGina Germaine finished ninth individually in the 4K, with a time of 15:41.69.

Sophomores Kortney CeBallos and Allison Faircloth also participated in the event. CeBallos finished 37th, out of 58, (17:14.93) and Faircloth was 44th (19:05.91).

The Lady Tigers will be one of five teams in this year’s race, competing against Angelo State, Clarendon College, Dallas Baptist and Midwestern State.
