The East Central University men’s golf team will have an early chance to see how they compare to most of the Great American Conference teams when they participate in the 2013 GAC Preview hosted by Southern Nazarene at Lake Hefner North Golf Course in Oklahoma City.
Nine of the 11 teams from the league will be in attendance with at least five participants from each team in the field of 57. Besides the host Crimson Storm and Tigers, Arkansas-Monticello, Arkansas Tech, Harding, Henderson State, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Southeastern Oklahoma State and Southwestern Oklahoma State will be at the event.
ECU will be bringing a total of six student-athletes to the tournament, with one competing as an individual. The five team members who will count towards the team score will be seniors Travis Arnold, Brandon Nicholson and Jed Williams, junior Mickane Replogle and sophomore Jason Goben. Fellow freshman Blake Long will also be traveling to compete as an individual.
This will be the first outing on the Lake Hefner course for all six participants, the first collegiate performance for Long and the first outing as a Tiger for Williams and Replogle.
In 2012, Goben finished with the second lowest average on the team at 77.9 after competing in six tournaments. Arnold was third with a 78.7 average in six tournaments and Nicholson had an 82.8 average in just two tournaments.
