The East Central University men’s golf team will open the Spring Schedule at the Incarnate Word Spring Invitational, Feb. 18-19 in San Antonio, Texas.
The tournament will take place at The Club at Sonterra North Golf Course, with a practice round scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 17 and two rounds of play slated for Feb. 18-19.
“I’m looking forward to seeing how we compare to the other teams,” said head coach Danny Key. “We’ve had good weather to practice the past month and I feel our teams are in better form than previous years for our first event of the spring season.”
The Tigers will take two seniors, a junior and two freshmen to the tournament.
Senior Dakota Robbins led ECU during the Fall season, with a 76.4 average in three events. Fellow senior Travis Keeley played in three tournaments in the Fall and had an 81.3 average.
Junior Travis Arnold finished second on the team in the Fall, with a 77.9 average in three events. Freshman Blade Knox played in three tournaments for the Tigers in the Fall and finished with a 79.7 average, while freshman Jason Goben saw action in two events and had a 79.75 average.
