Men's Tennis Splits on Kansas Trip

Southeastern headed north to Kansas to square off with a pair of Central Region foes, earning a split with a 6-0 win over Nebraska-Kearney and a 5-2 loss to Washburn.

The Savage Storm run their head-to-head record to 7-4 overall on the season.

SE stormed out of the gates against UNK, sweeping through doubles to take a 3-0 lead.

Luka Radulovic and Martin Bedcarratz picked up a 9-8 win at No. 1 doubles in a tiebreaker, while Tiago Ferrieria and Filip Pavlovic won 8-3 at No. 2 and Billy Haugen and Laercio Lobo cruised to an 8-2 win at No. 3.

Radulovic saw his momentum carry over to a 64-, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles, with Pavlovic following suit at No. 2 with a 6-4, 6-1 win that sealed a match victory.

The Storm closed out the 6-0 sweep with a 6-4, 6-2 win by Bedcarratz at No. 3, while positions 4-through-6 did not finish.

Southeastern saw the opposite of the UNK matchup to open the match against Washburn, falling behind 3-0 after getting swept in doubles play.

Radulovic recovered and put SE on the board with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles, closing the deficit to 3-1.

WU, however, picked up a win over Pavlovic at No. 2 in three sets to go up 4-1.

Bedcarratz tried to mount a rally at No. 3 with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 win to cut the gap to 4-2, but Lobo would suffer a 6-3, 6-3 loss at No. 5 to allow the Ichabods to pull off the 5-2 win.
