The Texas Rangers plan to purchase the contract of right-hander Justin Grimm from Double-A Frisco to start Saturday night against Houston.
The Rangers said Thursday that the promotion of Grimm for his major league debut and other corresponding moves will be made before Saturday's game.
When Grimm is purchased, Texas plans to put right-hander Koji Uehara on the 15-day disabled list to clear a spot on the 25-man roster. Uehara's move will be retroactive to Sunday, a day after the reliever sustained a strained back muscle pitching at San Francisco.
To get Grimm on the 40-man roster, the Rangers will transfer right-hander Neftali Feliz from the 15-day to 60-day disabled list.
Grimm will start in place of righty Alexi Ogando, on the DL with a strained groin sustained Sunday.
