East Central University men’s golf senior Dakota Robbins added one more academic honor to his career list as he was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America for the second-straight season.
Robbins is one of 57 student-athletes from NCAA Division II and one of just three from the Great American Conference to earn a spot on the list.
The Wichita Falls, Texas, native finished his collegiate career with a 3.74 GPA in Education. Robbins also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors for the 2012-13 season.
Robbins ended his career with the Tigers by earning All-GAC First Team and GAC All-Tournament honors in 2013. He finished second overall at the 2013 GAC Tournament, with an even 216, and helped ECU move from 10th on the first day to 3rd at the GAC Tournament, with a four-under par second round (68).
Robbins led the team with a 76.4 average in seven-of-eight events in 2013. He was also named a 2012 All-GAC Honorable Mention and to the All-America Scholar Athlete list.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team’s competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 78.0 in Division II and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
