SE Men Hit the Road to Face SNU

With three games remaining in the season, Southeastern will set out to face Southern Nazarene at 4 p.m. on Feb. 23, looking to move up in the Great American Conference standings.

The Savage Storm come into Saturday's meeting with a 13-10 record overall and a 9-8 mark in league play, currently in sixth place. With Northwestern Oklahoma State and Southern Nazarene not eligible for postseason play, SE is currently holding the No. 5 seed.

The standings are incredibly jumbled with heading into the second-to-last weekend of the season, with Harding and Arkansas Tech holding the top spot with an 11-6 record, just 1.5 games ahead of the Storm.

While SE has locked up a position in the postseason tournament, their seeding could range from No. 1 through No. 7 depending upon how things shake out down the stretch.

Saturday's game will be a rematch of a Jan. 19 meeting in Durant which SE took by an 82-78 decision.

In that meeting, SNU closed the Storm lead to one point with five seconds to play, but free throws in the final seconds would solidify the win for SE.

Southeastern had four players in double-figures that night, led by 21 points from Chris Roussell.

Mateus Oliveira added 15 points, while Steven Kohli chipped in 14 and eight rebounds.

Travis Timmons put up 13 points and dished out six assists in one of his last games before getting injured.

Roussell's 16.1 ppg leads the way for the Storm in scoring. He is also coming off a near triple-double against Southwestern Oklahoma State in which he put up 10 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.

Kohli is also averaging in double-figures with 12.3 ppg, while also leading the team in rebounds at 8.0 per outing.

Roussell and Oliveira are each averaging better than seven rebounds per game as well.

SNU comes into the matchup off a win over East Central and are 14-10 overall on the year and 9-9 in GAC play.

Ryan Aaron leads a group of five players averaging better than 10 points per game and does so at an 18.9 ppg clip.

Tyrone Lyons and Brady Burford lead the way on the glass with 7.3 rpg each, while Quan Conner leads the team with 4.2 assists per game.
